Too true! I know loads of people who have degrees in various subjects that they've never used at all! I know someone who got a degree in Computer Science but has just got a job as a car detailer! He was completely fed up with computers after his course! Another chap got a degree in History, did a conversion course and has had a successful career in Banking!!

As you'll probably have to work until you're 70, I think, you've got plenty of time to choose which path you take!Smile

but I'd rather have to only do things once. I don't want to do a load of A levels, then have to do more later on to be able to do the job I want.
work till i'm 70... brilliant!

Hannah, glad you are concentrating on your exams, and not letting stupid people get you down!! The woman is 31 for G sake!! she needs to get a life!!
Anyway, my daughter just done her philosophy/ethics this morning and chemistry this afternoon.
Your RS sounds very odd!! Georgia didnt have to do anything but Christianity, dont know if its cos it a church school though (C/E)
Sorry about the pain etc., Melly gave good advice re that. Enjoy yourself this evening with your friend, and just concentrate on whats best for you, dont worry about what others think or say. They obviously have nothing better to do!!!

Hi Hannah,

I'm glad you got a txt apologizing, at 30 she should have known better. I hope you will do well in all your exams, do your best you cant do better than that. You look really pretty with your new haircut, rise above the jibes from people who are jealous of you, I know it is hard, I too have a 16 year old daughter very similar to you in some ways. Try heat for your hands I used to find that a great help. Glad your having a night with a friend that will do you the world of good. Keep in there Lorna xx ThumpUp

Hi Hannah,

Many people of your age are unsure of what they want to do so its important that you keep all your options open. We live in a multi cultural society so if you wish to work in the public sector knowing a little about other religions will help you. Religious Studies is a subject whereby you can get a good grade by using your common sense as well, good luck tomorrow.

Today I woke up and couldn't get out of bed... hip is so bad that I can't walk, and hands all swollen.
Had to do my exams in bed Sad wrote as much as I could and tired my best, but got a medical cerificate and school are applying for special considerations so that they take me mock exams and predicted grades into consideration too.
Had a steriod injection this afternoon so hopefully it will kick in soon.

How are you all?

Hi Anna - sorry to hear you are struggling at exam time. Stress, stress and more stress - it is the biggest trigger for my RA too. I hope the steroid kicks in quickly. Remember to rest as much as you can for the next couple of days. Take care.

Julie

PS - Actually - I meant appear to be busy as Stewart might make you look at his lump!

Thanks for all the replies, makes me feel so much better.
Stewart I don't know what the right answer to that question is by the sounds of things... haha

One more question for you all, do you ever feel that the pain etc you're in actually irritates you? I always feel annoyed with myself and then worry about annoying other people. I'm finding that the "I'm great" phrase isn't coming out my mouth very often at all and I bet people are sick of it!

I think anyone with an ounce of common sense will realise you're feeling crap and so will make allowances!! As to the irritation thing........when I was really bad, I used to feel completely frustrated and useless! I think it's just a natural reaction. You hang in there girl, you'll win in the end!

Hi Hannah

I would think the condition irrates the hell out of most of us, but I'm sure we all deal with it in different ways. Being much older than you I try to hide my irratation from my husband and sons, especially my sons as I don't want them to remember their mum as 'being grumpy and miserable' although I know they worry when they see me hobbling around, and I can see the concern in their faces, as I have gone from being a very active mum doing things all the time to having to slow down, so that irrates me. I have told my nearest and dearest not to keep asking me how I am because I don't want to bore people, if I feeling really bad they will see it because I can hardly move. But at your age you need lots of sympathy and understanding from those around you and I'm pretty sure they want to give it to you, I bet you are not annoying them they are probably very concerned about you. Crikey if I had a son or daughter with this condition I know I would be.

I feel lucky that I have this forum whereby if I want to have a moan then I will let my frustrations out on here.

Take care Anne x
